VideoEnvy founders Heather Sasser (a Houston import) and Pat Lee (a Houston native) have been collaborating for more than 25 years. They met while producing emotional and impactful stories for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The ever-curious pair found common ground in their broadcast news backgrounds and built their working relationship on delivering meaningful results through visual storytelling.

In 2013 they officially formed VideoEnvy, jumping off the proverbial cliff and hoping the parachute would open. And boy, did it open. Since then, their work has taken them from the east coast to the west, and as far north as Toronto, though Houston remains their homebase and favorite place to shoot.  

Together they’ve created impactful video content for hundreds of clients.

Our Team

Heather Sasser

President & Co-Founder

Heather has been hooked on the news business since high school. After studying Broadcast Journalism at the University of Texas, she traveled the country working in front of and behind the camera as a photographer, editor, producer, writer, and on-air talent. Her career has taken her to some spooky situations while producing a Ghost Towns documentary, into a pit of rattlesnakes while covering the world-famous Rattlesnake Round-Up, and even to Nevada’s version of the running of the bulls.

An avid runner who’s completed 11 marathons (including the Boston Marathon twice), Heather is known for her ability to take a project and run with it. From initial consultation to final cut, Heather truly listens to a client’s visions and goals, ensuring that every detail aligns with their expectations. Never short on questions, Heather gets people talking both on-camera and off. Always digging deep to fully understand and deliver on her clients’ needs, her inquisitive nature is a key ingredient in VideoEnvy’s success.

Heather graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program in 2017 and served for 11 years on the Board of Directors for the American Marketing Association’s Houston Chapter. She currently serves as the Marketing Chair for Impact100 Houston’s Board. She has been active in NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners), HIMA (Houston Interactive Marketing Association, now HBMA – Houston Business Marketing Alliance), and the Greater Houston Partnership.

Pat Lee

Vice President & Co-Founder

With a keen eye for storytelling and unmatched technical expertise, you can expect the unexpected, and maybe even the impossible, when Pat’s on a project. As the Director of Videography, our lead shooter, and an exceptional editor, Pat can take a production from good to great. He has removed cricket sounds from an outdoor shoot, eliminated logos from industry equipment, and made thousands of people shine with his post-production prowess.

After working in just about every department at Channel 2 from Sports to News to Production and even Promotions and Sales, Pat went on to produce national non-profit telecasts and scores of TV commercials. In fact, he’s won the Houston Press award for best local television commercial twice.

Pat is known for adapting his skills to the needs of each unique production whether he’s shooting stills, video, or editing. He’s a master of lighting and quick to adopt new editing techniques, ensuring that every project is visually stunning, technically flawless, and at the leading edge of what’s possible in video production. A film buff, he’s looking out for more than just the whodunit. Pat’s studying the camera angles and spotting the special effects errors that most moviegoers would never notice.

Sam De Leon

Videographer and Editor

When Sam commits, he COMMITS. After joining the American Marketing Association during his second week at the University of Houston he went on to serve on their Board of Directors in various roles and dedicated his college career to studying the field of marketing.

At the student-run marketing firm, Cougar Creative, Sam learned how to build relationships with marketing clients and lead video, social media, and strategy projects.

Initially joining VideoEnvy in a marketing role, Sam quickly developed an affinity for cameras and editing. Today, Sam is our go-to guy, serving as a talented videographer and editor. His marketing background allows him to approach each video with a strategic mindset, ensuring the final product not only looks great but also achieves the client’s goals.

The first on the team to get drone certified, he is always on the lookout for the latest tech in the industry. After 10 years of marching band Sam can play everything from classical to modern hits and he’s known to pick up the trumpet and french horn from time to time. Whether he’s behind the camera, piloting a drone, or in the editing suite, Sam’s commitment to excellence makes him an invaluable asset to the VideoEnvy team.

Sharon Barile

Social Media & Office Coordinator

Born with a heart for art, Sharon grew up drawing in the galleries of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She later studied Fashion Design at Otis College of Art and Design in L.A. before completing her BFA in Multimedia and Video at The Atlanta College of Art.

Combining her love of fashion with her interest in e-commerce, she went on to work as a Creative Designer styling, photographing, and editing for brands like Kenneth Cole and Sag Harbor.

Sharon expanded into Shopify website design and administration operations, freelancing for many well-known Houston jewelry designers and boutiques before landing at VideoEnvy.

When she’s not keeping everyone on the team on-task and online, she’s checking out new art exhibits and live music from garage rock to K-pop, and curating an Instagram page for her two cats, Esme and George Michael (@esme_and_georgie).
