Thursday Tips: How to Prepare for Your Video Interview

If your company is planning a video that will include on-camera interviews, we have a few tips to help your participants relax before we even start filming. To some, the thought of being in front of lights and cameras might make them feel nervous. We will guide you through the process and capture enough footage to produce a seamless edit. You found out you were going to be interviewed for a company video, which is exciting, but also very nerve wracking. What questions are they going to ask you? How is it going to work? Relax, let me walk you through the process.

Yes, we will send you questions ahead of time. But what we don’t want you to do is write down and memorize your answers, because then on the video, you’re going to sound very scripted and not very genuine, which is the opposite of what we want.

So write down some key thoughts, think about it for a little bit, and then show up to the interview and let us take over. We’re going to sit down with you and have a conversation. Our goal is for you to forget that all of this equipment is around you, and we’re chatting like old friends. So throw away that script. Don’t worry, we’ve got you.
